Orienteering Champions!
Orienteering Champions at Churnet View Middle School
At Churnet View Middle School, part of the Talentum Learning Trust, they are committed to providing our pupils with a well-rounded education that nurtures their talents and helps them reach their full potential. This was recently demonstrated by the outstanding performance of their key stage three orienteering team at the Potteries Orienteering Championships.
Aspiring to Excellence
Guided by our core value of aspiration, our pupils embraced the challenge of the orienteering competition with determination and resilience. Armed with a map and a dibber, they raced around the course at Hanley Forest Park, locating a variety of controls in diverse terrains.
Strength through Collaboration
The team's success was a testament to the strength through collaboration that is central to our vision at Talentum Learning Trust. Working together in pairs, our year 7 girls and boys secured first and second place in their respective events, while our year 8 girls claimed the runner-up position.
A Place Where Everyone Flourishes
Through this achievement, our pupils have demonstrated the fulfilment of our vision to create "a place where everyone flourishes." The orienteering competition provided an opportunity for our learners to showcase their skills, build confidence, and experience the joy of success.
Celebrating Excellence
We are immensely proud of our Orienteering Champions and their outstanding performance. Their triumph reflects the excellence for all aspiration that Churnet View Middle School have for all its students, where every student is encouraged to believe in themselves and aspire to greatness.
Through events like the Potteries Orienteering Championships, they are able to showcase the talents and achievements of their pupils, reinforcing their vision and values, and building a stronger, more vibrant community.
