The Talentum Learning Trust

Leek First's Dancethon

Leek First School, one of the Talentum Learning Trust's Schools, believe in creating a nurturing and inspiring environment where every learner can thrive. They support and enable all their children to believe in themselves, succeed in life, and aspire to be the best they can be.

Recently, the school community came together to honour the memory of a beloved member of staff, Mrs. Emma Jackson, who sadly passed away last year. Mrs. Jackson was loved, and she touched the lives of countless children during her time with the school.

To celebrate Mrs. Jackson's life and legacy, the school organised a joyous and emotional Dancethon event. The children, staff, and families of Leek First School poured their hearts into this fundraiser, which was held in support of the Dougie Mac Hospice - the organisation that provided compassionate care for Mrs. Jackson during her final days.

Throughout the day, our pupils danced with boundless energy, enthusiasm, and a deep sense of purpose. The event was a true reflection of our Trust's core values of aspiration, compassion, and integrity. The children demonstrated their commitment to honouring Mrs. Jackson's memory and supporting a cause that was close to her heart.

The Dancethon was a resounding success, with the Leek First School community coming together to raise over £700 for the Dougie Mac Hospice. This outpouring of generosity and support is a testament to the strength of our community and our shared belief in the power of compassion and collaboration.
