Members and Trustees

MEMBERS

The Members of The Talentum Learning Trust (TTLT) have specific responsibilities related to the governance and accountability of the Trust. According to "The Talentum Learning Trust Governance Framework and Scheme of Delegation 24-25.pdf," the Members are responsible for:

  • Approving and amending the Articles of Association.
  • Recruitment and Appointment of Members.
  • Securing the highest standards of accountability from Directors for the provision of all pupils in the Trust and may direct Directors to take specific action to achieve this.
  • Holding the Board of Directors to account for performance and standards within academies.
  • Appointment and removal of the Trust’s Auditors and receiving the annual accounts.

Furthermore, the Members have the power to appoint up to nine Directors and remove any or all Directors. Employees of the Trust are not permitted to act as Members. Members will hold an Annual General Meeting every fiscal year. A quorum is defined as a majority of the total Members entitled to vote upon the business to be transacted. Members are required to maintain an updated record of pecuniary/business interests.

TRUSTEES

The trustees, also known as the Board of Directors, hold a pivotal role in The Talentum Learning Trust (TTLT), bearing significant responsibilities for the Trust's overall direction and management.
As detailed in "The Talentum Learning Trust Governance Framework and Scheme of Delegation 24-25.pdf", they are accountable to the Department for Education and possess ultimate decision-making authority regarding the Trust's operations, including the establishment and administration of academies.
  • The Trust Board's core functions revolve around three key areas:
  • Ensuring clarity of the vision, ethos, and strategic direction of the Trust.
  • Holding executive leaders accountable for the educational performance of schools and the efficient performance management of staff.
  • Overseeing financial performance and ensuring resources are managed effectively.
